The Chair of the PA-UfM Working Group on Rules and Financing, Member of the European Parliament Tiziana Beghin, has visited the premises in Rome which will host the Permanent Secretariat of the PA-UfM.
In July, the Bureau of the PA-UfM unanimously decided that the new Secretariat would be hosted at Via della Penitenza 37, a location which the Commune of Rome had earmarked in its offer to host the Secretariat.
During a field visit on 5 October, 2018, Ms Beghin oversaw the ongoing renovation of the prospective office space that features views of the famous Janiculum Hill. The building, which is commonly known as the “Buon Pastore” (Good Shepherd), is located in Rome’s historic Trastevere district.
The location includes 70 square meters of office space as well as an accompanying conference room of 94 square meters. An additional storage room could easily be converted into a technical room for translation facilities or added office space. The office and conference room will be accessible by elevator. There is also a reception area on the ground floor.
The building’s inauguration is expected soon.
