In the framework of his participation in the 4th Summit of Speakers of Parliament and the 13th General Assembly of the Parliamentary Assembly of the Union for the Mediterranean, held on 12 and 13 May in Rome, Dr. Ali Abdel-Aal, Speaker of the House of Representatives, delivered a speech on the main theme of the Summit of Speakers of Parliaments entitled "Sustainable Development in the Region Euro-Med. " The following is the text of the speech delivered by Dr. Ali Abdel-Aal on this subject: Dear friend Laura Boulderini, President of the Italian House of Representatives Dear friend Petro Graso, President of the Italian Senate Excellencies heads of parliaments and heads of delegations, Ladies and gentlemen, At the outset, I would like to express my deep appreciation to the members of the Italian Parliament for the warm reception and hospitality we have experienced since our friendly country has come to an end, and we express our appreciation for the sincere and tireless efforts that have been made to bring this Conference to a successful conclusion. . The theme of this conference is of great importance. The recent period has witnessed intense international mobility with the aim of creating an environment conducive to sustainable development for all, which was formulated at the Third United Nations Conference on Financing for Development in July 2015 and the Sustainable Development Agenda 2030 adopted at the United Nations General Assembly In September 2015, which includes 17 goals and 169 goals to eradicate poverty, combat inequality and address climate issues over the years to 2030. Achieving the objectives of sustainable development in our Euro-Mediterranean region is a goal that combines the priority of the countries of the region with its northern and southern shores, which obliges us to intensify cooperation in many areas to put the sustainable development goals into practice. Ladies and gentlemen, The issues of unemployment, illegal migration and terrorism are major problems facing our societies at the present time, which require confronting them through a comprehensive and sustainable development perspective that takes into account the economic, security, political and legal dimensions. It is essential to address the root causes of these problems through the eradication of poverty, the development of education and training, the transfer of knowledge and technology, the provision of more employment opportunities for young people, the skills needed to efficiently engage in the labor market and raise productivity and growth rates. In addition to opening channels for safe and orderly migration between the countries of the South and the North. Ladies and gentlemen, There is no doubt that there are many challenges facing our joint efforts in achieving sustainable development, facing the course of cooperation between the north and the south of the Mediterranean and preventing the utilization of the available resources in the hoped-for form, the most important of which is terrorism which has become a global phenomenon not only of our region. the world . The political challenges and armed conflicts in the Middle East, particularly the Palestinian-Israeli conflict, which can not, however, continue to achieve full regional cooperation in the Euro-Mediterranean space, as well as the armed conflicts in Syria and Libya, which caused the exclusion of these two important countries, Of promising potential, to fully integrate into Euro-Mediterranean cooperation frameworks so far. Hence, there is an urgent need to reach lasting political solutions to these crises, so that we can guide our efforts to achieve the objectives of sustainable development in our Euro-Mediterranean region. Ladies and Gentlemen Attendees: Egypt was not isolated from the global efforts to achieve the objectives of sustainable development, especially as the Egyptian Constitution explicitly stipulates the need to meet its requirements, foremost of which is to raise the rate of real growth of the national economy .. and raise the standard of living .. and increase employment opportunities .. and reduce unemployment rates. On poverty. This constitutional commitment has been translated into a national agenda for achieving sustainable development by 2030, which aims at achieving comprehensive economic development, improving the investment environment, enhancing human capital, and achieving social justice and providing decent living for the Egyptian citizen. . We in Egypt have an ambitious goal in achieving the objectives of sustainable development, not only for its important role in achieving economic stability, but also for its equally important role in the face of terrorism, based on the Egyptian vision that it is necessary to develop a comprehensive approach to counter this abominable phenomenon, Development is one of its main pillars. Ladies and gentlemen, I would like to stress that we are required to use all the mechanisms and tools provided by the Parliamentary Assembly of the Union for the Mediterranean to strengthen cooperation between our countries to meet the challenges and difficulties in our region that impede the path of sustainable development ... We must also make more efforts in the field of parliamentary diplomacy In order to reach peaceful settlements of conflicts and conflicts that threaten stability in our region. I emphasize that the achievement of the requirements of sustainable development and the challenges associated with them require, in an important aspect, more European investments to the countries of the South Mediterranean especially in the labor-intensive and productive sectors, including the transfer of knowledge and technology, as well as more financial and development support. To the receiving countries of refugees in the southern Mediterranean, in order to implement the principle of burden-sharing. Thank you for the good listening, peace be upon you and God's mercy and blessings ,,,
